Orange in deep cadmium with Venetian 1969 Patrick Heron

From a painting perspective I was, at the age of 25 strongly influenced by Paul Klee and Bauhaus,then the New York school and one or two of the English Abstractionists This was an age of naivety for me as I came to live in Leeds and discovered Art in the Henry Moore gallery where Patrick Heron was featured from his association with Jacob Kramer College. I strongly remember my first encounter with the above picture, even at a distance of thirty years -the vividness of line and mass of colour.
